The Groppetti Auto family is proud to help out the community and is happy to announce that they recently donated $10,000 to the Visalia Rescue Mission.
Groppetti’s Auto Director of Information Technology, Bill Sample, came up with a simple plan to help raise money for the Visalia Rescue Mission. For everyone who went onto Facebook and “liked” Groppetti Automotive, Don Groppetti would give $5 dollars to help the mission.
From November 19 to December 19, Groppetti Auto saw more than 1,900 click the “like” button. Groppetti rounded out the check to $10,000.
“There was no real blueprint. We knew it could be beneficial for us to get our name out there and help support the community,” said Derek Groppetti, sales manager.
After the month-long successful Facebook campaign, mission director Danny Little happily picked up the check for $10,000. “The Rescue Mission is grateful for the partnership and support from the Groppetti group,” Little said. “We feed over 500 people a day and sleep 120 to 130 people a night. This money will come in handy.”
The Visalia Rescue Mission formed in 1981 and represents the Church to the Tulare/Kings County homeless. The Visalia Rescue Mission also ministers to the formerly incarcerated and those with addictions.
For Visalia’s largest car dealer, the Facebook campaign was a new way to hit the community and promote its business. But it’s not about selling cars, Sample says. The director of information technology says it’s a way to offer tips and upcoming events while introducing the Groppetti logo to social media sites.
